FAQ
VPS hosting questions
What is VPS hosting?
A VPS (virtual private server) is a virtual machine with its own CPU, RAM, storage and operating system, allocated to your server alone. What is VPS hosting?
How much does VPS hosting cost?
VPS plans start at €3.87/month, with no setup fee. The price depends on the CPU, RAM, storage type and location you choose; the plan list shows each plan's price.
What is the difference between hourly and monthly billing?
Every VPS plan can be billed by the hour, with a one-hour minimum, or by the month. Hourly suits servers you run for a short time, such as tests. For a server that runs all month, compare the hourly total with the monthly price before you choose.
Which VPS plan should I choose?
Start from the CPU and RAM your application needs, then pick the storage and location. Plans range from 1 vCPU to 64 vCPU and 512 MB to 512 GB RAM, and the plan list filters them by storage, location, CPU and RAM.
Where are your VPS servers located?
Locations differ by plan. 72 plans run in Finland, and entry plans can be deployed in up to 47 countries. Europe: Albania, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Switzerland, Cyprus, Czechia, Germany, Denmark, Spain, Finland, France, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Sweden, Türkiye, Ukraine. Americas: Argentina, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, Puerto Rico, United States. Asia and the Middle East: United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Israel, India, Japan, Malaysia, Pakistan, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan. Africa and Oceania: Australia, Morocco, Nigeria, South Africa. Each plan card lists its own locations.
What is the difference between SSD and NVMe VPS storage?
Both are solid-state. NVMe drives connect over PCIe instead of SATA, which helps workloads that read and write many small files. 56 plans offer NVMe and 16 plans offer SATA SSD. Read the NVMe guide
What is the difference between shared and dedicated CPU cores?
Shared vCPUs are shared with other virtual servers on the same host. Dedicated cores are reserved for your server only, so performance stays steady under constant load.
Should I choose ARM or Intel?
ARM plans run most Linux software, which is built for ARM too. Choose Intel when your software only ships for x86.
What can I run on a VPS?
Websites and web apps, APIs and back-end services, staging and test servers, and builds or data jobs that keep the CPU busy. See VPS hosting for WordPress, deploying an app on a VPS and VPS hosting for developers.
Do I manage the server myself?
Yes. We run the hardware, network and virtualization; you manage the operating system, software and data. If you want the server managed for you, see Managed VPS.
How is Turbo VPS different?
Turbo VPS is a separate range of larger configurations, from 4 vCPU to 192 vCPU. See Turbo VPS
What is the difference between a VPS and shared hosting?
On shared hosting many websites share one server and its settings. A VPS is your own virtual machine with its own operating system, so you can install and configure what you need. See shared hosting
When do I need a dedicated server instead?
When you need a whole physical machine to yourself, for example for steady heavy load or hardware you control. A VPS shares the physical host with other virtual servers. See dedicated servers
